CR Cargo changes name to SSL Overland

In May 2019, Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics AB acquired a majority of the shares in CR Cargo International AB. To further strengthen the brand and its collaborations, externally and internally, CR Cargo will change name. From 2020-06-01 the company will go under the name Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics i Jönköping AB. For internal and external marketing purpose for Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics i Jönköping AB, we will communicate the short version, SSL Overland. Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics has 46 employees at the moment, with offices in Gothenburg (HQ), Jönköping, Malmö, Norrköping, Helsinki and Vilnius.

  • The name change from CR Cargo to SSL Overland will strengthen our brand. Which, in turn, will create solidarity within the company. We strive for a mutual goal, therefore it makes sense to go under the same name. It will also boost our marketing for the company. It’s a strategical decision, a decision that will propel us forward and help us evolve, says Johan Ignell VP for Scandinavian Shipping and Logistics AB.

Jim Unbeck, one of the founders of CR Cargo, works as Traffic Manager for North Africa, Turkey and the Nordic region. CR Cargo was founded in 2015 with great success and quick progress. During their second year they reached 100MSEK in revenue. Above all, they have been successful in markets such as The Baltic, Russia, Iran, Iraq and North Africa.

  • Leaving the name CR Cargo behind feels only logic in this point of time. By using a mutual name, we strengthen our profile and presence on the market. We also have a stronger basis developing SSL Overland, now that Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics has bought the majority of the shares in CR Cargo. We think that the name change will have a positive effect internally and externally, bringing us closer to our parent company, says Jim Unbeck Traffic Manager at SSL Overland.

Our colleagues in Vilnius will not change name at this time, but will continue to go under CR Cargo Baltics.
