The customer’s challenge
Our customer was in urgent need to find a solution for their cargo transport from Karlstad to Port Mellon on the Canadian west coast. There is no service from Sweden to Port Mellon and to take any regular solution to the west coast of Canada was not an option due to the long transit times.
Our solution
By creating a creative combination of different transportations, by truck and sea, we managed to get the customer’s cargo from Karlstad to Port Mellon in only 19 days. We drove the cargo by truck from Karlstad to Liverpool. From there, we caught a vessel over to Halifax on the east cost of Canada. From Halifax, we transported the cargo by truck right across the North American continent. To secure that we did not lose any time, we used two drivers for this.
Results and benefits for the customer
To avoid substantial fines for late deliveries, it was crucial for our customer to get the cargo to their client in time. This case needed to be executed with high accuracy to secure that no connections were missed for the cargo. The solution that Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics managed to offer saved them a lot of money as well as secured their relationship with their own client.
